Clutch Brake Combination - Vistar Series :

Clutch is used to transmit the power only & Brake is used to stop machine only.  When starting & stopping both are to be controlled, Clutch and Brake both are to be controlled, Clutch and Brake both are required.  Clutch will engage drive to machine and when brake is applied clutch will only disconnect drive from machine and brake will stop machine only.  The drive will keep rotating.  This is ideal for inching operation.

These are in two parts : 1)  Magnet Body   &  2)  Armature Plate

Clutch Brake Combination - Vistar Series

These Clutches / Brakes engage when current is supplied to them.  Slip rings are fitted to clutch only.  The liner wear can be adjusted and wearing parts are replaceable.  A sproket, gear or pulley can be mounted if desired.

Multi - Disc Clutch ( EKP / EK Series )

These multi-disc clutches / brakes work in dry as well as oil immersed condition.  Being a compact unit it is mainly used in machine tool and where dimensions are critical.  These are normally off type units.  Frequent adjustment is required as clutch plates wear.  Wearing parts are replaceable.

EK Series :
These are also multi disc units and are used in oil immersed conditions only.  Used mainly in machine tools and do not require any adjustment for wear during use.

A.C. Disc Brakes ( Fail Safe ) :

Very compact and modern in design.  Foundation is not necessary as they are directly mounted on non-driving end shaft of the motor.  It consist of Liner Plates (Brake Disc) with square hole ate the centre.  One corresponding piece of square hub is supplied with the Brake.  This hub is keyed to the motor shaft and the Liner Plate is free on this hub.  Normally Liner Plate is gripped between two discs with the help of  Spring Pressure.  They work on 230 / 415 V.A.C.  When the current is supplied to the brake one disc is attracted by electromagnet against spring pressure and Liner Plate is released.  Thus the Brake is 'off'.  Once the Brake is set it does not require adjustment or maintenance.  When the liner plate wears with the use then only air gap is required to be maintained periodically.  An arrangement to release the brake manually could be provided on request.

D.C. DISC Brakes ( Fail Safe ) :

We manufacture fail safe disc brakes working on 24 V.D.C. We also manufacture these brakes in  other voltages i.e. 42,190 etc. at extra charge.  In working they are more or less as per A.C. Disc Brakes only.  Advantages of D.C. Brakes over A.C. Brake is that they are compact in size.  They being D.C. are sluggish in action and hence with continuous inching operations are there these brakes cause load on the motor.  Hence they are ideal when number of operations are many but inching is not required.  A.C. Brakes are not suitable when number of operations are made for small time or intermittently.

Shoe Brakes - Solenoid & Thrustor operated

These brakes are common and are being used on various machines since long.  It consists of two brake shoes reverted with brake liners and one electric solenoid.  When the solenoid is working on A.C. or D.C. the brake is called A.C. or D.C.  Shoe Brake respectively.
When in place of solenoid, Hydraulic Thrustor is used, then it is called Thrustor brake.  When brake is on, Brake drum or coupling or pulley keyed to driving shaft is gripped between two shoes by spring pressure.  When current is supplied to solenoid the brake is 'off' (released).  Solenoid Brakes apply instantly while Thrustor brakes apply slowly.

Shoe Brakes - Solenoid & Thurstor operated

>> Brake - Motor :

Brake Motor is a combination of three phase Squirrel Gage Induction Motor with Electro-Magnetic Disk Brake A.C. or D.C.  When power is switched off with ordinary motor, the rotating parts will stop after some time but if Brake Motor is used rotating mass will stop instantaneously.
All Brakes are mounted at non-driving end of Motor, Braking disc is mounted directly on motor shaft.  Brakes are directly acting, no lever or links are required.  Friction Liner Plate is only wearing part and this is easily replaceable.
